this thing is awesome

so i am converting the walk up attic in my Cape Cod style house into a 2nd floor. Bought this to do the framing with. its awesome, hands down. ive used a few other brands but there is a few things i liked about it: 1- changeable directed exhaust feature. no more blow back in the face 2- nail depth of drive is easy to change on the fly. 3- ive run about 1200 nails through it. 1 jam and that was a defect in the nail clips spacing. not once did it try to shoot more than 1 nail per trigger pull.
Outstanding quality

The Porter Cable Framing Nail Gun was a good value and is an excellent product. First, the no-mar nylon foot slides right off to reveal barbs that help to hold the gun in place when toe-nailing framing projects. Second, a few drops of included oil in the air inlet is all it takes to complete preventive maintenance on the tool. The case keeps all the components together in one place. At just over 100 3" nails so far and not one jam or mis-fire. I have other Porter Cable nail guns that I have been so impressed with and plenty of framing to do on my remodel. I might even build my own shop with this gun to make the most of it!
Powerful.

Have used this nailer to put together a 24 X 52 ' garage. Absolutely great, takes changes in nails without issue, operated between 80 and 120 PSI, had very few nails to knock down even in the treated beams. If this one ever dies I will buy another, this thing is great. Doing siding, depth of drive was easy to make when needed and the results were consistent.
Even though I have two framing nailers, I could not pass up the deal on this one.

Great quality nailer at a fantastic price. Just remember to turn the exhaust port on the top of the nailer so it doesn't hit you in the face when leaning over the nailer. I'm very happy with it . It appears to be as good of quality as my more expensive Hitachi and better than my Cambell Hausfeld. It uses the plastic sleeved nails and sometimes leaves plastic pieces under the nail head. This can be a problem if the nails are exposed like the top of a deck but otherwise perfect so far. Most of the plastic pieces are easily brushed away. Every now and then I would have to pull a plastic piece out from under the nail head. This is nit picking and not a problem for framing.

This is the second one of these I've purchased. I bought the first one several years ago and have used it to build everything from houses to sheds or just putting up a new wall. I just bought the second one as a Christmas gift for my father-in-law. It is the lightest of all the framing guns at around 7 lbs making it easy to handle when nailing while your arm is extended. It also comes with a belt hook, so you can hang it while working on a ladder. I own two other framing guns and this is the one I always pick up first on a job and usually loan out the other two. It has it's limitations. Its not as fast as some of the more expensive guns. It doesn't do rapid touch-and-go style very well, but I like taking my time.
Great for detail projects

We bought this compressor to install trim around our porch roof and to install a chair rail in one of our bedrooms. The tools provided in this combo were perfect for both jobs. I loved the option of 2 couplers so we could both be using the compressor at the same time! Much easier than lugging the compressor around when moving around the room. A great purchase for detail projects! We can't wait to use it again.
Solid nail gun
Frank Smith
I bought this for my company use and it's very solid. The only problem I have is the higher price for the nails the gun uses. The upfront savings will definitely be lost due to the cost of the plastic-collated nail strips.
Good Product

Used for long hours without problem. Not as noisy as expected as per reviews. Good for the price.
Just what I wanted in a nail gun!

It is an excellent working tool, buy this combo to make a wooden ceiling and was fantastic, super fast without using hammers or nail pain, and my wife can help me easily :). It has 2 pistols and a stapler, I use the 3 and I speed up the work. In addition the compressor has an extra amount of tools to adapt. I already buy it an inflator kit and a paint kit.
